Welcome to the world’s best sport – skiing – even without snow. Give your old skis a new lease on life and join us for the Sand XC-Skiing World Championships! The type of skis doesn’t matter – as long as they are xc-skiing skis. They don’t need to be the latest racing models. We also have skis available for loan, as long as you bring your own SNS or NNN boots. Bring your poles, top-notch fitness, and, of course, a party spirit! This isn’t just a fun event; we’re competing for the title of the world’s best sand skier.

Every Skier is an Athlete for us

We welcome all skiing and endurance sports lovers! Everyone who steps into nature and onto skis is a nature athlete. While we ask you to choose your participation category, we are one tribe throughout the event. You can choose the World Championship category (M or W) even if you no longer run 3000m in the Cooper test or jog every week. The Party category is all about having fun, and dressing up is encouraged. Competitive spirits should join the World Championship category. The Young Promises – Sand XC-Skiing Kids category is open to those aged 12 and under (unfortunately, mental age is not considered).

11-11:45 Arrival to the Herrainpakat area

12:00-12:45: Open practice time, opportunity to sand ski without participating in the competition.

13:00: Sand Skiing World Championships 2025 with non-stop starts.

13:00 Livestream starts.

  • Men (WCh)

  • Sandshot team competition with 3 team members
• Participation with own insurance.
• Skiing style is sand xc-skiing – any style you want to perform on sand with skis. Tip: mostly classic technique.
  • Skis have to be xc-skiing skis (classic or skate – it’s your choise!)
• Competition distance is approximately 400 meters (estimated 2:00-4:00 min). You have three (3) attempts, and the best result counts.
• Competition office and number distribution at Team Skiers’ truck. Competition numbers to be returned at the finish area.
• Prize giving:Top 3 in Men, Woman, and Young Promises categories will be awarded. The World Champions in MYL, NYL and Cement Start categories will be crowned. Prizes in the Party category will be drawn by lot.
• Start and finish: Located on the ”sand” (location Herrainpakat). 
• The event follows the principles of fair sport. The competition organizers are responsible for compliance with the rules.
